My Favorite Disney Days – Best Disney Special Events

Featured blog provided by Chickery’s Travels

I’m a big kid at heart so of course I adore Disney! Ever since my boys were little, I’ve been taking them to Walt Disney World as often as possible. Now that they are grown and have homes of their own, I still plan for the family to meet in Orlando at least once every couple of years. Bok Tower Gardens

Singing Tower at Bok Tower Gardens

Featured blog post provided by Chickery’s Travels.

Bok Tower Gardens is a National Historic Landmark, contemplative garden, and bird sanctuary located north of Lake Wales, Florida. It is named after the founder Edward W. Bok, a humanitarian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author who immigrated to America from the Netherlands.

We started our visit at the information center, which is a good way to get a lay of the land and learn the history of these gardens. They have a 15-minute film that is played continuously throughout the day. For those who aren’t familiar with Edward W. Bok, the Singing Tower, or Pinewood Estate, this film is a great way to find out everything about what Bok Tower Gardens has to offer. The exhibit hall has historical displays on Edward W. Bok’s life , as well as the history behind the Singing Tower and Gardens. You can also see the original carillon keyboard.

I learned some valuable lessons during my kayaking trip down the Weeki Wachee River today. First let me just say that this is a nice calm ride. You can practically just float downstream, and just use your oar to steer periodically. Still, folks who know me will not be surprised to learn than I managed to flip my kayak. This was about 10 minutes after posting a Facebook Live video teasing my husband for having to work, while I was out having fun. I guess you could say it was Karma.
